History

I was born in Syracuse, NY, on October 19, 1961. I was raised in Philadelphia, PA, a middle-class life in a middle-class town. I graduated from George Washington High School in 1979, and received a BA in physics from Haverford College in 1983. I was enrolled for a time at the Milton S. Hershey College of Medicine, but left for a career in computer science. I completed my MS in computer science at Rutgers in 1988. I am now working on a PhD dissertation in machine learning. In 1989, I married Deborah Greenberg, of Philadelphia, PA.

Situation

Deborah and I live in Maplewood, NJ, just southwest of Newark. We have no children and two cats. Deborah commutes to Information Builders in Manhattan.

Interests

Intellectual: artificial intelligence, bioinformatics , humanistic philosophy and atheism.
Cultural: science fiction, comic books, Tom Stoppard plays , ``alternative'' and ``new'' music, Dementia, light fantasy, non-representational art.
Recreational: role-playing games, wargames, computer games, good food, beer and wine brewing, billiards.
