The parents who have established and care for the Community Park Chess Club, believe that playing chess with our children can help to build their character, as well as build their intellect.

Our philosophy can be best summarized by Chess Club's two rules:

1. We should all have fun while playing chess. 
   
2. We must have respect for others.  Respect includes playing by the rules, shaking hands before and after each game (whether you win or lose) and good sportsmanship.

We know that if we help our children to appreciate and play by these simple rules, we will have made a positive impression that will last for years to come.
